Star Award                       

Harmony Shores has chosen Kathi Edwards 

to be our Region 23 Star Award recipient for 2011!  Kathi has been a Sweet Adeline and a member of Harmony Shores Chorus for nearly seven years and during the first six years she has been a lead, tenor and baritone.  If that wasn't enough this past year she decided to try her hand, or rather her voice, at singing bass.  And this is where she found her true home.  Oh sure, others may have tried singing a variety of parts over their tenure, but not many of them have worked to re-learn two contest songs in time to perform them on the contest stage.  Kathi is also a "clarion" making her all that much more remarkable.  Kathi is one of the first chorus members "off the paper"  and can always be relied on to know her part and sing it well. 

       Aside from her singing every part, Kathi has held several positions within the chorus, her latest being the Management Team Secretary.  Now, keeping track of everything that goes on in one of our Team meetings is a feat in itself!

       We would be remiss if we didn't mention Kathi's counterpart and one of our very best Addy Daddies- Lee Edwards.  These two make quite a team, and Lee is always there to help with any task required.  Nearly every Monday night we find our risers already put up due to Lee and their grandson, Josh, tagging along with Kathi to specifically help out.  They cheerfully set up the risers, then head out for a "guys night" and return just in time to take the risers back down and put them away.  Kathi and Lee have also set up performances for our chorus at their church, including a Christmas concert where they not only provided the venue, but had fabulous food for us after the performance in order for us to hold our chorus Christmas party.

       Kathi Edwards has a spirit and strength that shines brightly in all aspects of her life.  We are truly fortunate and blessed that her star shines so brightly for Harmony Shores Chorus too.
