Harmony Shores Chorus Leadership

Harmony Shores Chorus thrives because of the energy and style of the people who have stepped up to lead. Here are a few of the people that make our ensemble tick:

Barbara Heckerson - Director

Barb has been a Sweet Adeline since  August of 2003.  She was assigned as Lead Co-Section Leader 6 months after joining, and was serving on the management team a few months after that!  After working to learn the craft for a few years, she was assigned as Assistant Director, and in May of 2010 became the Director.   Barb is registered in the Directors' Certification Program and hopes to earn her certification in the near future.

Joyce Evans - President

I am truly a child of the South, having been born and raised in

Georgia. I went to school in Albany, where I met and married my

husband, Bob, when he was stationed there with the Air Force.

We have lived in many different places in the US, Pennsylvania,  California,

Illinois, Missouri, Georgia and Florida.

Bob spent most of his working life with McDonnell-Douglas (now Boeing) and we lived for more than fifteen years in Germany, where he worked with the German Air Force.

When my husband retired, for the sake of sanity (do you hear me , ladies?) I had to find a hobby and Sweet Adelines was there to fill the bill. I have been with Sweet Adelines for more that 22 years and with Harmony Shores for 17 years. Actually, my husband is supportive of me and my obsession but he swears that if they cut a Sweet Adeline in two, he'd get the half that sings.

Unless I am asked to leave by a frantic director, I will sing until they pull my cold dead body from the risesrs.

Music Team

Audra Resler - Bari Section Leader:

Audra has been a Sweet Adeline and a member of Harmony Shores Chorus for three years, but she's been singing since she was a teenager.  She's performed in high school high school musicals, been a member of the church choir for many years and for a short time an alto member of a jazz ensemble.  She loves singing baritone, because it's such a challenge!

Joyce Evans - Bass Section Leader:

 Lynne Nobles- Lead Section Leader:

I have singing since junior high and even sang at my first wedding! saw an ad for Sweet Adelines while living in New York and have Been a member of SAI since 1988 when I sang baritone for a year. Discovered I was a much better lead and have held that voice position since 1989. I have held several positions in 7 different choruses (NY, NJ and CT) and love it so much I even went so far as to have the SAI double treble clef tattooed on my right ankle. I have been in 2 registered quartets, VIVA! in NJ and now with Enchante' in Harmony Shores. I absolutely love singing a cappella the Sweet Adeline way!

Nancy Everritt - Tenor Section Leader:
Nancy has sung with Harmony Shores Chorus since summer of 2003 - and life has never been the same! She has always found great joy in singing, first as a child, then in Church and school groups. Though she always sang with accompanied vocal groups, her first love was - and is - a capella. There's just nothing like the beauty of the human voice! From the first visit, she found a "home" in Harmony Shores - not only the opportunity to sing a capella on a weekly basis, but the friendship and support of an group of amazing women. She finds the four voice parts of barbershop all unique and lovely in their own right, but finds the melodic harmonies of tenor to be especially beautiful. An old Sweet Adelines saying is that "tenors are closest to God" - yay, Tenors!
